POLSA certification

Confirmed competence and infrastructure

POLSA issues the certificate after checking the data of the organization and its infrastructure. It has a defined scope, a number and an expiry date.

  • On the entity's application
  • Granted by POLSA after an assessment
  • Number, scope and expiry date

Where you see the mark

The mark is shown with an organization that holds a valid certificate and with the instruments the certificate covers.

  • In search results

Next to a facility on the Infrastructure Map list and next to an organization in the Organization Directory.

  • On the map

The pin of a place with a certified instrument carries a check mark. The "With a POLSA certificate" filter keeps only such places.

  • In the profile

The profile of the organization and of a covered instrument gives the status, number, scope and expiry date of the certificate.

What the statuses mean

A valid certificate gives the mark wherever the organization and the covered instruments are shown. The other statuses are given in the profile only.

With the mark on lists and on the map

  • POLSA certificate

The certificate is valid. Its number and expiry date are given in the profile.

  • Certificate expiring

The certificate is valid but expires soon. The organization can apply for an extension.

Shown in the profile only

  • Certificate suspended

POLSA has temporarily suspended the certificate, for example until recalibration. The status is given in the profile.

  • Certificate expired

The expiry date has passed and the organization has not extended the certificate. Its data is still published.

An organization without a certificate carries no marking. Its data is verified by POLSA before publication in the same way.

No organization currently holds a valid POLSA certificate.

For organizations

How to get a certificate

Having no certificate does not limit the publication of data.

Proposed certification process, to be confirmed in the POLSA certification rules.
  1. Publish your infrastructure

The application requires a published organization profile and at least one published instrument.

  2. Apply

The organization's coordinator selects in the panel the instruments the certificate should cover and accepts the certification terms.

  3. POLSA assessment

The Polish Space Agency carries out the assessment outside the system. It may ask for additions to the application and sends an e-mail about every decision.

  4. Certificate and mark

The certificate has a number, a scope and an expiry date. From the start of its validity the mark is shown with the organization and the covered instruments.

Data verification

How a certificate differs from verification

Every published profile is verified. A certificate is an additional confirmation.

Every published profile

  • Approval in the organization. The organization's coordinator checks a change prepared by an employee.
  • POLSA check and publication. An administrator compares the change with the published version and only then publishes it.
  • Yearly confirmation. The organization confirms its data at least once every 12 months. Without confirmation the profile leaves the results and returns after it without a new publication.

Additionally with a certificate

  • POLSA assesses the organization and the selected instruments beyond the regular data check.
  • The certificate has a number, a scope and an expiry date, and its status is given in the profile.
  • The mark is shown in search results, on the map and in profiles.
